Once again I am situated in Kensington, London. This time I am going to write about the house of Lord Leighton (1830-1896), a Victorian artist (A Pre-Raphaelite painter, as well as a sculptor, illustrator and writer) who lived in a magnificent house at 12 Holland Park Road, which nowadays is open for visits.

It appears that Lord Leighton was one of the first artists who decided to incorporate his studio at his residence. Indeed, on the second floor, there is a very spacious room where Leighton worked, and in which several sketches in plaster used as models for his paintings, are shown. A reproduction of my favorite picture is also shown in this studio: Flaming June, painted in 1895. The original is to be found the Ponce Museum, Puerto Rico, but the reproduction is of sufficient quality to be prominently displayed in the study of its author.
